On Wednesday, July 19, one of Meta’s platforms, WhatsApp, experienced some connectivity issues around the world. Some users were unable to access the app, while others could send messages, but they didn’t reach the expected recipient.
Whatsapp confirmed this through their verified handle on Twitter saying: “we’re working quickly to resolve connectivity issues with WhatsApp and we’ll update you here as soon as possible”.
About an hour later, they came back to confirm that the issues had been resolved and users can chat happily.
This must have brought a lot of relief to the users and they might be using the service as one of their major communication channel.
Kudos to Meta on achieving over 100 million users on their new texting app called Thread
